When the C family contacted me about sunset family portraits in Watercolor at the beach, we quickly began talking about adding a garden session. While 30A is known for its gorgeous white sandy beaches, it has some beautiful garden areas. These garden areas create a timeless, elegant look for family portraits.
When booking both a beach and garden session, I always recommend my clients bring at least one change of clothes. This location allows us to add multiple looks to your family portraits. Watercolor gardens is just a few short blocks away from the public beach access so it makes the perfect location add-on for anyone doing beach portraits at Watercolor.
we would love to chat with your about your portrait needs!
Mom said this little guy has not had his "professional" portraits taken since he was about a year old. However, he seemed like a pro to me! Mister 'B' was fabulous behind the camera and rocked every look! I love his smile, especially when he shows just a little bit of his mischievous side. Mom did such a wonderful job coordinating this Upscale Casual Wardrobe style for the garden session.
After some time over at Watercolor Gardens, we headed over to the public beach access for Watercolor. A Quick wardrobe change (I LOVE mom's blush dress) and we got our toes in the sand!
I must admit, I have the best job in the world for someone who loves kids! I get the opportunity to tell them to do things their parents try to keep them from doing all day long! Throw the sand, jump in the water, get your clothes all wet and sandy! This is my favorite time to capture the smiles.
What to wear: 30A Family Beach Portraits
We frequently get asked, what should I wear for family portraits on the beach. First off, wear something you FEEL fabulous in, but also make sure it looks flattering! While we may understand our own body type, what we often forget is that not every wardrobe style is made for our body type. Be sure to check out our BODY STYLE GUIDE to help you better understand how to shop for your body type.
Before our session, Miss 'C' sent me several wardrobe choices for her and her family. I chose my favorites for each location and she rocked both looks, as did the awesome looks guys in her life. We decided on timeless/formal vyb for their beach images so we choose colors and textures that will look perfect for years to come.
When choosing wardrobe items for the beach, stick with long dresses. The beach is always windy and the long dresses look great in the wind. Be sure dresses have a fabulous fit, stay away from loose fitting or dresses that are too large for you. This blush dress was a perfect look for this sunset photo session.
